Good morning all,
Today we have a short reflection based on this week’s readings.
Lectionary readings for Sunday 29th March 2020 – Lent 5 (Year A)
- Ez 37:1-14
- Ps 130
- Rom 8:6-11
- Jn 11:1-14
Currently we are seeing such desolate scenes on the TV: Scenes where thriving bustling communities such as NY are like ghost towns. In such a short time, so many have lost jobs, loved ones, and are feeling anxious, angry or hopeless.
One of our lectionary readings today is based on Ez 37: 1-14 which focuses on the prophet Ezekiel and his vision of the valley of dry bones. Through the breath of God, this desolate despondent scene of death and parched scattered bones is transformed into life.
Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.
Ez 37:5
In these uncertain times, let us remember that God is with us, the word of God is powerful, and the Spirit of God brings us life. Amen.
Feel free to listen to an amazingly inspirational song by Lauren Daigle that reminds us that we are alive in the Spirit.
